World Environment Day Celebration at LWS
June 6, 2023

June 6, 2023
Lumbini World School (LWS) commemorated the World Environment Day (WED)- 2023 with the theme “Solutions to Plastic Pollution” amid the enthusiastic participation of students from Grade One to Nine who made their utmost efforts to make this day a success. They also promised to minimise the use of plastic items in the future.
The students from grade one to three portrayed their artistic skills by drawing a green earth, who also made some bird feeders using plastic bottles with a cardboard canopy to provide shade to birds that go thirsty in this excruciating weather. Similarly, students from grades four and five also built bird feeders. In order to fulfill the WED theme, students from grades six to nine built a green wall using plastic bottles along with another commendable work of tree plantation and irrigation. They brought young plants from home for the plantation at school on this special day. They also built a kitchen garden which would be taken care by themselves in the future.
It was huge participation of students and teachers to mark such a significant day.
It was a small endeavour of Lumbini World School in support of global efforts to beat plastic pollution.
Let’s plant trees, preserve the existing ones and play a vital role in making the earth inhabitable for all creatures.
