On 24th Shrawan, students engaged in swimming contest. It also mounted the ecstasy level of students as a post-exam reward. Students from all four houses participated in the swimming competition from grade one to nine.
On the same day, the school organised a range of events and inter-house competitions, namely futsal, elections for captain and vice-captain accountability, formation of child club to just name a few apart from the swimming contest.
The first session captivated the momentum of the students. The participation and excitement of students was sterling and jaw-dropping. The students from Grade one to nine enthusiastically participated in the elections (snapshots attached in another post because of a limit set for posting photos that would play a major role in bestowing the responsibilities of captainship on the deserving leaders. In the meantime, the students also got to know the process of casting a vote for a nominated candidate. They have become familiar with the words related to elections, such as electoral roll (voter’s list), ballot paper, ballot box, the roles of election officer, polling booth officer, chief election commissioner, stamping, black mark sign on the thumbnail before casting a vote etc. In addition, the elections ignited the value of accepting the leadership role which will eventually lead them to acquire team management skills and interpersonal skills. The elected captains and vice-captains were honoured with certificates of achievement and accolades.
The students from grades one to nine were placed in different houses to cast their votes for the candidates who, they believe, would come up with effective planning and embark on its implementation. The general members lined up as if they were in the real elections (adult elections) to elect the judicious captains and vice-captains. This event made a lasting impression on students along with giving them very constructive knowledge of the elections.
The second session witnessed amicable competitions of Swimming and Futsal among the four existing houses: Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Manaslu and Mt. Lhotse.
LWS extends its heartiest congratulations to the winning houses!
