On Friday, 14th Ashoj, Lumbini World School (LWS) celebrated the biggest festival of the Nepalese- Dashain- amid enthusiasm of students, teachers, non-teaching staff and Board of Directors. Before this, the students had germinated the seed of barley on the Ghatasthapana day in a container which they took home on Friday.
On this special day (Friday), the students enjoyed flying a kite, received tika and jamara (barley grass) from their elders (Students of Grade Eight). And the students of Grades Seven and Eight received the tika and jamara from the priest and the team SALT.
On this special occasion, the winners of various events, including Children’s Day and Stars of Fortnight received certificates and veneration from the homeroom teachers, class teachers and the team SALT. LWS has always endeavoured to instill in the minds of students that learning could be possible only through activities. The knowledge they get from conventional style of teaching & learning methodologies remains on their minds only for a short period of time.
Therefore, the school always believes that the teaching curriculum should always be linked with daily activities.
HAPPY DASHAIN TO ALL!
Regards,
LWS
