Lumbini World School (LWS) celebrated Tihar and Chhath festivals at its premises on Friday, 4th Kartik by involving students from Grades One to Eight amid the excitement and enthusiasm of the students, teaching and non-teaching staff.
The students from Grades One to Eight got involved in various religious practices, such as crow worshipping, dog worshipping, cow worshipping, Gobardan Pooja (worshipping cow dung), Laxmi Pooja (worshipping of the Goddess Laxmi), worshipping the sun, which are the part of Tihar and Chhath Pooja by the Hindus.
The students from Grades One to Eight made rangolis, which is one of the holy practices during Deepawali.
Subsequently, 12 siblings (brother and sister from the same parents) practised Bhaitika in which sisters offered their brothers tika, garland and a variety of nuts, fruits, selroti as part of the celebration. After this session, various dances were performed by students from Grades One to Eight. In addition, the students of Grades Seven performed a drama based on the myth of Tihar which gave us a message that the bond/ intimacy of a sister and a brother cannot be detached, even death hesitates to snatch the life of brothers and sisters.
Since LWS believes in ‘Learning by Doing’ philosophy, our students are learning every activity with their involvement which gives us great satisfaction and confidence that one day they will become great leaders, innovators and catalysts.
The event was grand which ended with lots of exciting performances of the students.
Lumbini World School wishes all its students, parents, guardians, well-wishers, teaching and non-teaching staff prosperous and blissful Deepawali & Chhath-2079.
Regards, LWS
