Lumbini World School (LWS) successfully conducted a one-day professional development training on Sunday, 28th Ashoj for the LWS teaching team to energise their teaching and learning enthusiasms. The training sessions were facilitated by the School Academic Leadership Team (SALT).

The first session was facilitated by Ms. Lajita Sharma, VPA, who demonstrated her real teaching skills in her classroom which engaged the participants, bestowed on them effective techniques to ensure engaging and participatory classroom teaching. She demonstrated how literature can be connected with English communicative skills— speaking and writing.

Mr. Ramesh Mani Suvedi, VPO, gave an insight into effective writing. He demonstrated how a well-constructed paragraph can be written and explained its crux areas. He shared with participants how each learner’s writing skills are assessed with standard rubrics.

Dr. Min Prasad Khanal, AD, delivered an engaging science class in which he demonstrated how a science class can be facilitated with student participatory approaches and how the vivid concept of a topic is delivered.

Mr. Bishnu Pd. Dhakal, Principal, gave feedback on the presentations of the session facilitators and also gave them some constructive inputs that would make lasting learning impacts on learners.

In the feedback session, teachers appreciated the teaching techniques embraced by the facilitators and showed their immense interests in delivering such classes in the future.

Overall, the PDT gave the teaching team crucial techniques that can be used for student engaging, concept generating and fulfilling real-world queries of the learners.
