ON INNOVATION AND DESIGN, SATURDAY, 6TH ASHOJ
The students from grade one to nine amazed the distinguished guests and participants of ‘LWS Teaching-Learning Expo-2080, which was the second edition of the Innovation & Design Expo, with their innovative projects, prototypes and designs. More than 90 projects were made by the students themselves with the guidance of teachers.
The opening of the expo was done by the event hosts- Miss Aadhya Badal (grade eight) and Aarush Pokharel (grade seven). The event encompassed the Live singing of the National Anthem, National Song, Taekwondo Demonstration to just name a few.
The Chief Guest of the event, Hon’ble Amik Sherchan, Lumbini Province Chief inaugurated the expo with the Attendance Counting Robot which was the first of its kind to exhibit at the expo. The robot counted the number of participants of the event.
The Innovation and Design Coordinator, Dr. Min Prasad Khanal (Academic Director of LWS) gave a welcome speech to the distinguished guests of the event. Subsequently, the school Principal Mr. Bishnu Prasad Dhakal highlighted the school academic affairs emphasising how students are aspired to immerse themselves in hands-on activities and innovative projects at LWS.
Mr. Narayan Pd. Dhakal, the ward chairperson of ward no. 13, appreciated the school for taking an initiative for the dissemination of child-centric education. He also asserted that it’s delightful to have Lumbini World School in Tilottama municipality.
The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Amik Sherchan spoke on the importance of activity-based education in Nepal, and Lumbini World School is creating a milestone in the provision of such education. He said he was surprised and enlightened to see such jaw-dropping projects and meet such young innovators. He lauded them for their efforts.
The Chairperson of the event, respected Yogesh Ghimire delivered a vote of gratitude to the chief guests, special guests and invitees.
More than 90 projects were in the exhibition for the visitors to observe, meet and enquire with the young LWS innovators where eight schools from different parts of the district attended the event.
The school extends its heartiest gratitude to all teaching and non-teaching staff for their untiring efforts in making this mega event a success.
