Lumbini World School (LWS) celebrated Tihar and Chhat festivals on its premises on Friday, 24th Kartik by involving the students from grades one to nine amid utmost excitement, enthusiasm and exhilaration of the pupils, teaching and non-teaching staff.
The students from grades one to nine entailed in a range of religious practices, such as crow worship, dog worship, cow worship, Gobardan Pooja (worshipping of cow dung), Laxmi Pooja (worshipping of the Goddess of wealth and prosperity, Laxmi), worshipping of the sun, which are the crucial festive practices during Deepawali and Chhat.
In the meantime, the performance of Mha:Pooja was a stunning celebration which involved students from grades one to four. Our parents, Mrs. Aashtha Shrestha and Ritu Pradhan were kind enough to perform such worship which is typically performed by the Newars.
A plethora of religious and cultural events were showcased during the celebration. Different houses performed typical Tihar songs and dances including a satisfying performance by a visiting group of students and teachers from Pharsatikar Siddhartha English School, Suddhodhan, Rupandehi.
The students from grades five to nine made multiple designs of rangoli, which captivated the attention of the people present. Subsequently, 40 siblings (brothers and sisters from the same parents) adorned one another offering vermillion, garland and nuts, fruits and selroti as a blessing for their longevity and prosperity.
A wealth of adorable performances of pupils increased the crescendo of Tihar and Chaat celebration, consolidating them into real-life learnings.

LWS
