The 7th, 8th and 9th graders radiated the faces of parents with their jaw-dropping, heart-warming and thought-provoking performances through play, poem, singing, debate, dance, coding, scientific experiment, yoga and taekwondo demonstrations in front of a crowd of valued parents and guardians on Tuesday, 2nd Shrawan.
The opening of the programme was done by the Masters of Ceremony, Miss Ishika Bohora (9th grader) and Master Ingage Gyawali (8th graders), followed by a welcome speech from Dr. Min Prasad Khanal, the Academic Director.
The first performance was yoga demonstration by a group of students who enlightened the audience thorough their sun-worshipping yoga. It was followed by an overview of LWS Teaching and Learning Methodologies by the school principal, Bishnu Prasad Dhakal. A live show of singing of National Anthem from a group of students added the aura of student dedication to the performance morning.
The 8th graders performed an informative Nepali play that incorporated the actual teaching philosophy of LWS--Learning by Doing--which gave an insightful message of hands-on activities that play a vital role in equipping students with life-changing education and concept-based teaching. This was just a prototype of student-engaging activity. The ninth graders’ subsequent stunning drama performance was eye-opening as well as heart melting, which imbibed the sacrifice of parents for their children’s happiness and career pursuits.
In the meantime, at one corner of the event, a group of students plunged into the fine arts who would later show their art to the participants. It was adorable.
As the session progressed, a group of students demonstrated an activity on how soil erosion occurs and how it impacts our environment which was led by the science HOD.
A live coding class was really eye-catching in which two students from grade eight showed a live performance of webpage designing. It was highly commendable. A melodious song was sung by a student of grade eight which was spellbinding.
A group of six students of grade eight involved in a debate competition titled, “Safety is more important than freedom’ which was thought provoking. Subsequently, the demonstrations on a scientific experiments, anti-theft door-bell alarm, automatic trash can, to just name a few were other highlights of the celebration.
A group of students elaborated on how DO IT YOURSELF (DIY) prevails on LWS which has made lasting impacts on learners. A vote of thanks was given to the parents and distinguished guests by Vice-principal, Mr. Ramesh Mani Suvedi.
A big thank-you to the teaching and ECA teams who inspired the students, encouraged them to participate and show the appealing results. Tons of thanks to all the students who were part of this gratifying event. The administrative team deserves high accolades in making this event a grand success.
We were overwhelmed to see the massive turnouts of our valued parents and guardians. We thank them for laying the foundation of hope and inspiration for their child(ren) and the institution and look forward to their continued support in the days to come.
