On 22nd May, Lumbini World School (LWS) held a grand celebration in honour of Buddha Purnima, which falls on 23rd May. This special occasion was marked by various activities showcasing the students' talents and knowledge about Lord Buddha and the significance of Buddha Purnima.
Students from grades 1 to 10 participated enthusiastically, presenting a diverse array of performances. The event featured captivating dramas, melodious songs, and vibrant dances, all of which enthralled the audience. These performances were a testament to the students' dedication and hard work, as they brought the teachings and stories of Buddha to life on stage.
In addition to the artistic performances, some students delivered insightful PowerPoint presentations. These presentations provided detailed information about Lord Buddha's life, his teachings, and the importance of Buddha Purnima. The educational aspect of the celebration ensured that all students gained a deeper understanding of the cultural and spiritual significance of the day.
A highlight of the event was a podcast performed by the students. This innovative approach allowed the students to engage with the audience in a modern and interactive manner, discussing various aspects of Buddha's philosophy and its relevance in today's world.
The youngest members of the school community, the Pre-School students, participated in a serene meditation session. This activity aimed to introduce them to mindfulness and the peaceful teachings of Buddha at an early age.
The entire programme was a grand success, reflecting the school's commitment to celebrating cultural and religious events with enthusiasm and respect. The efforts of the students and staff in organising and executing such a memorable event were highly commendable.
The celebration of Buddha Purnima at Lumbini World School was not only an opportunity for students to showcase their talents but also a meaningful way to honour the legacy of Lord Buddha. It was a day filled with learning, joy, and a profound sense of community spirit.
