“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see” – Mark Twain.
As a corporate responsibility, Lumbini World School (LWS) teaching team and board directors along with the students from grades four to eight visited an orphanage named Ramchandra Mainadevi Anaath Aashram, situated on Aashram Path in Tilottama-06, Rupandehi, on 16th Chaitra with a purpose of interacting with the orphans and rekindling their hope with financial assistance and words of encouragement.
A total of 12 orphans from different swathes, mostly from Mugu district, are residing here and receiving education from a government school. Since the orphanage was looking for a donation from the school, the school established an Orphan Welfare Trust of NPr. 35000.00 in its name which would be utilised for accommodation and food for the orphans.
The owner of the orphanage is Mrs. Mainadevi who founded this residential institution for forlorn children whose schooling and nurturing is uncertain and tumultuous. With the help of her husband, Mrs. Mainadevi made a commendable effort to bring in and foster unfortunate children from across the nation. However, because of limited space and infrastructure, this residence cannot accommodate more than a dozen children.
The LWS students had an interaction with those adopted children who were found committed and firm in their futuristic goals. The children seemed to be happy and content with the privileges they were receiving at the shelter home.
Kudos to a big-hearted lady and her spouse whose philanthropic endeavour has played a significant role in fulfilling the quest of hundreds of abandoned children for education and shelter amid parental loss and depression.
Regards,
LWS
