The provision of progressive education is the prime objective of Lumbini World School (LWS) which enables learners to go through experiential learning (action-based result-oriented learning).
The school conducted a session on “Cyber Security” on 16th Chaitra for the students to unveil the truths behind different kinds of crimes people may get involved in. The program was facilitated by Inspector, Santosh Kumar Ghimire and his team from Butwal Sub-metropolitan City Police Station.
Such an eye-opening session would persuade the students to abstain from the abuse of internet and social networking sites. The session highlighted the risks of cyber bullying and cybercrimes whose consequences are more fatal and more dangerous than physical crimes. A cybercrime involves wrongdoings i.e., exposing nudity, blackmailing, and harassment of a person using a computer or computer networks. A person of any age could be a victim of cybercrime.
Following his presentation, various questions were asked by curious students from Grades Four to Eight regarding safe use of internet and social networking sites. They also became aware of how irresponsible a person can be when s/he tries to bully his/her friends using internet.
A big thank-you to the team of Butwal Sub-metropolitan City Police Station, Butwal for an eye-opening session.
Regards,
LWS
