Expedition could be a hobby of someone whereas it could be a stepping stone in one’s career.
Lumbini World School (LWS) invited Mr. Bhuwan Singh Bishwokarma, the first Nepali to step on Antarctica, on 16th Chaitra to share his expedition experience with young learners of the school. As the session progressed, a documentary of Mr. Bishwokarma’s expedition along with his team to Antarctica continent was shown to the students and teachers. The clip encapsulated the hardships the team had to overcome in the coldest region on earth.
To reminisce about his achievements, he was honoured with Gorkha Dakshin Bahu (2nd) in 2049 BS by late King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah. Even the Nepal Government has constructed two paths in his name in Butwal and Hetauda to commemorate his contributions to the nation.
It was amazing to see the person who conquered the adversities that brought him both fame and fortune.
His talk was followed by an interaction with the curious students who unveiled their curiosity by asking him a number of questions. The event ignited the spark of enthusiasm of students who believed that the event was fulfilling and worth attending.
The school Chairperson presented a memento of love to the guest.
